Use Numi

These guides assume you can open a running Numi instance. If you are setting up your own, begin with Install Numi.

Chat and files

  • First chat: sign in, choose a model, and send a message.
  • Chats and search: pin, archive, and find conversations.
  • Files and PDFs: attach files and ask questions about their contents.
  • Working with tools: ask the agent to look things up, run code, or create files; enable optional tool groups.

Adjust the experience

  • Reasoning effort: change the level offered by your selected model.
  • Memory: inspect, edit, or clear saved information, and find the instance-wide extraction settings.
  • Preferences and prompts: set your response preferences and understand where they apply.

To understand what happens to thinking traces between turns, read How reasoning is preserved. Instance-wide provider and tool choices belong to your administrator; Run Numi covers those settings.
